Signal iOS update: VoiceOver for message statuses (sent, delivered, etc.)

Jun 19, 2025

Signal for iOS has a new beta version: 7.65. What’s new in this update?

In the latest version of Signal for iOS, the developers have improved the screen reader feature (iOS VoiceOver). VoiceOver now also supports message status indicators, better known as the checkmarks next to messages. It now reads aloud whether a message has been sent, delivered, or read.

Also new in this version is that links to images will now generate a link preview, provided you have enabled that feature in Signal. The recipient will then see a preview of the image from your link, as shown in the screenshot below:

Finally, this update mainly includes minor bug fixes and further work on Signal backups. It is not yet known when Signal backups will become available.
