Signal is working on screen sharing on mobile

17 April 2026 14:33 CEST

Signal is working on a new feature that will allow users to share their screen during calls via the mobile app. This makes it easier to explain something to someone or to show directly what’s happening on your device.

So far, screen sharing with your contacts is only available in Signal Desktop, the desktop version of Signal.

The first hints of screen sharing on mobile devices can be found in the source code of Signal (GitHub commit ccd8601). Although the feature has not been officially announced, this suggests that Signal is actively working on it.

Like everything you share on Signal, screen sharing is protected with end-to-end encryption. This means no one outside of the call, not even Signal, can see what you share on your screen.

The feature for mobile is still in an early stage of development, so it remains unclear when users will be able to use it. As soon as there is more news, you will find it on our website and social media channels.
