How to install Signal Desktop for Linux?

Follow these steps:

1. Download Signal Desktop for Linux (via Signal.org)

2. Follow the instructions to configure the Signal repository and install the Signal package

3. Link Signal Desktop to your Signal account on your mobile phone

How to link Signal Desktop (PC, laptop) to your Signal-account?

Follow these steps:

1. Make sure you have an active Signal account on your phone. If you don’t have Signal yet, you must register Signal on your phone first before you can link and use Signal Desktop. So the first step is always registering and setting up your Signal account on your phone. Need more help? Read our Signal User Guide

2. Download Signal Desktop for Linux (via Signal.org)

3. Open Signal Desktop on your computer or laptop to view the QR code

4. On your phone, open Signal and go to Signal Settings > Linked devices

5. Tap Link new device and scan the QR code with your phone

6. Select Transfer Message history or Don’t Transfer

7. Signal Desktop is ready for use and your new messages will be synchronized across devices
