Signal hat eine neue Beta-Version für Android: 7.69. Was ist neu in diesem Update?
The developers of Signal used the weeks around the holidays to fix many small bugs and implement other improvements.
If you try to join a group via a group link that has already reached the maximum size, you will now receive a clearer toast notification stating that the group limit has been reached and that you cannot join the group.
The developers have also made improvements to the automatic downloading of attachments after calls. During calls, attachments are not downloaded automatically. Previously, you had to manually download these undownloaded attachments after ending the call, but now this happens automatically as soon as you end the call.
New design for calls
The biggest improvement can be found in calls. Signal has received a completely redesigned user interface for Android, as we previously announced in our preview of Signal in 2026.
For incoming calls, the buttons are larger, the blurred profile photo is centered in the background, and the color of the Android system and navigation bars matches the overall design better.
Now you can also make your own video image even larger, so you can better see how you look during calls. Signal has redesigned the picture-in-picture (PIP) view for this, which you can now enlarge to almost full screen:
Polls for 1:1 chats and pinned messages
In this version, work has also been done on polls for one-on-one chats. At the moment, polls in Signal are only available for groups, but soon you will also be able to create polls in individual chats.
