Polls in Signal are getting closer. After discovering the first hints in the code last month, the first images of polls in the iOS version of Signal have now surfaced on the Signal Community forum.
For many users, this is big news. The call for a built-in poll feature has been growing for years, especially among users switching from WhatsApp who are used to being able to vote via polls there. Until now, Signal users had to get creative with emoji reactions or separate messages to conduct polls.
After last month’s code hints, forum member ‘imkh0’ from the Signal Community has now shared the first images. The feature is still in development, so the final design may change.
You’ll be able to add polls via the + icon next to the message input field:
From there, you can create a new poll. Whether it’s scheduling a meeting, choosing a favorite pizza, or making major group decisions, polls in Signal make everything a lot easier.
You enter a question with a few options, and then you can start a vote. When creating a new poll, you can also set whether participants may vote for just one option or multiple options:

As mentioned, the feature is still under development and the final design may differ from these screenshots, but the foundation for polls has been laid.
