With the growing popularity of Signal, companies are beginning to explore the platform as a serious alternative to WhatsApp.
It has become very common in many countries around the world that businesses communicate with their customers via messengers. While these channels often only support market leader WhatsApp we recently have seen that companies have added additional channels and messengers like Signal as well. The obvious reason: There is a significant group of potential customers who don’t use WhatsApp anymore but who can be reached via alternatives such as Signal.
One recent prominent example for this is Kaufland, one of Germany’s biggest supermarket chains. While Kaufland has sent electronic leaflets with weekly offers via WhatsApp for a long time it has now extended this service to other messengers such as Signal, Telegram, Threema and Viber.
Customers can now subscribe via Signal to receive weekly leaflets as well by simply scanning a QR code on Kaufland’s website. Since Signal doesn’t offer official business support, many companies use multi-messenger platforms to integrate it alongside other messaging services in a single setup. Under the hood, Kaufland probably uses Whappodo to manage its multiple messaging channels seamlessly, since Whappodo is part of the Schwarz Group—the parent company of Kaufland.
As Signal’s popularity continues to grow, it’s expected that more businesses will discover and adopt the platform for customer communication. If you’re a business owner looking to expand your messaging channels, now might be the perfect time to give Signal a try.
