Signal is developed by the Fondazione Signal, a nonprofit organization focused on creating open-source privacy technology that is supported by user donations. The foundation’s mission is to enable free and secure communication for everyone, everywhere.
Donor badges
If you support Signal with an in-app one-time donation or become a monthly supporter of Signal, you can choose to display a donation badge on your profile. These badges are a small, optional way to show your support for Signal and help keep it independent.
Signal has now updated the one-time boost badge from a rocket to a plant badge:
How to support Signal and get the badge
You can donate directly from the app via Impostazioni di Signal > Dona a Signal. After your payment has been fully processed, you can find the badge under Signal Settings > Donate to Signal > My support and optionally display it on your profile.
