Signal has released a new beta version for Android: 7.49. What’s new in this update?
In the latest version of Signal for Android, the developers have fixed several bugs and made various other improvements.
One key improvement is in text search within chats. Now, if you search for a word that appears multiple times within a single message, all matches of that word will be highlighted. Previously, only the first match in a message was highlighted. This change makes it easier to locate messages and brings the behavior in line with how Signal Desktop displays search results.
Signal backups
Work has also continued on Signal’s upcoming backup feature. Several bugs have been fixed, and improvements have been made regarding password managers. For the past few weeks, testers have been able to try out the alpha version of Signal backups. In this article you’ll find everything we currently know about Signal backups.
It is not yet known when backups will be rolled out to the regular beta version or become available to everyone.
