Signal for iOS has a new beta version: 7.77. What’s new in this update?
This latest version of Signal for iOS includes several bug fixes and other improvements.
Among other things, the Signal developers have updated the icons in the emoji picker for users using Apple’s liquid glass design on iOS 26.
Polls in groups
Signal has also made progress on polls for Signal groups. Polls will allow you to ask a question and provide multiple answer options, so group members can vote easily. Polls can be handy, for instance, when choosing a date or organizing an activity.
The highly requested feature seems to be well-developed, but it’s still unclear when polls will be officially available in Signal. As soon as there’s more news, you’ll of course read about it on AboutSignal.com and our social media channels Bluesky, Mastodon or X.
Signal Backups
Finally, work on backups for iOS has continued. Earlier this week, Signal officially announced the backup feature, and since then Android testers have already been able to try it out. Also for iOS, it won’t be long before Signal Secure Backups become available.
This article covers what we know about Signal backups so far.
