Signal Desktop update: completely redesigned media overview with links and audio

Nov 24, 2025

Signal Desktop has a new beta version: 7.81. What’s new in this update?

This latest version of Signal Desktop includes several bug fixes and other technical improvements. The design of the recently introduced Polls feature has been further enhanced. Polls in Signal are now available to everyone.

Media, audio, links, and files

The biggest improvement in this version of Signal Desktop is the completely redesigned media overview in both one-to-one chats and groups.

Until now, this overview consisted of only two tabs: Media and Files. Starting with this version, Audio and Links have been added. This makes it much easier to find voice messages, audio files or shared links without endlessly scrolling through the conversation.

With this new media overview, Signal Desktop offers a more organized way to quickly find shared content.

Signal Desktop greatly improved

Signal has released many major updates for Signal Desktop recently. Signal introduced notification profiles for more control over your notifications, as well as chat folders that allow you to organize your chat lists much more clearly.
