Signal increases attachment size limit from 100 MB to 200 MB

31 July 2026 18:26 CEST

Signal has increased the maximum file size for attachments. Users can now send files up to 200 MB, doubling the previous limit of 100 MB.

The increase makes it easier to share larger files, such as documents or ZIP files. Users can now share more content directly through Signal without needing to use external file-sharing apps.

Like all communication on Signal, file transfers are protected by end-to-end encryption. This allows users to securely share files with their contacts while keeping their data private.
