Signal update for iOS: even more Liquid Glass design

Dec 4, 2025

Signal has a new beta version for iOS: 7.88. What’s new in this update?

The latest version of Signal for iOS includes several bug fixes and other improvements. For example, VoiceOver support for Polls has been improved.

Liquid Glass in Signal

This version mainly focuses on new Liquid Design adjustments. Liquid Glass is available for iPhones with iOS 26 and iPads with iPadOS 26.

Last week, Signal demonstrated the Liquid Glass design in a short video. It was already known that more design changes would follow.

This week, a new design has been introduced for in-chat banners, such as banners for pending group membership requests and duplicate contact names. The screen for sharing a location has also been revamped and small adjustments have been made to the media viewer. In addition, the design for iPad has been improved.

Finally, the sticker picker has received a Liquid Design update as well.

Pinned messages

Work has also continued on the feature for pinning messages. A pinned message will be displayed at the top of a chat or group for all participants. You can unpin pinned messages for everyone at any time.

As it currently appears, it will be possible to pin all types of messages: photos, videos, stickers, voice messages, GIFs, and view-once media. Disappearing messages can also be pinned, but they will automatically be unpinned and deleted when the set timer expires.

It is not yet known when Pinned messages will be available in Signal.
