Signal has expanded manage tools for group admins. Admins are now able to delete recent messages from other group members for everyone. As we reported back in February this year, this change was already on the horizon.
Until now, group admins, like other members, could only delete their own messages in groups. When other members posted inappropriate messages, admins couldn’t take action, and the messages remained visible to the group.
In the latest beta versions of Signal (Android 8.17, iOS 8.18, Desktop 8.17) group admins can delete messages sent by other members. Admins can only delete messages sent within the past 24 hours, the same time limit that applies to “Delete for everyone” for your own messages.

When an admin deletes a message, other group members will see a message indicating that the item was deleted by an admin. The admin’s name is tappable, so you can quickly view their details and start a 1:1 chat or call if needed.

With this new feature, admins have better control over conversations, helping keep groups cleaner and more manageable.
Availability
The feature is currently in beta and will be available to everyone soon. The latest stable versions of Signal already support message deletion by admins using the beta.
