Summer break
The humans behind this unofficial website about Signal, have temporarily left their keyboards to chase some sunshine. We're not AI bots with infinite energy, and even the translations are handcrafted by volunteers.
Signal itself keeps doing its thing, of course. You can check their latest beta releases on the community forum, or simply sit back, relax, and wait until we're back to update this page.
Notifications for scheduled messages in Note to Self

- Scheduled messages sent in Note to self now trigger notifications, making them useful for reminders. Read more
Linked Android tablets & linked Android phones
July 15, 2026
- Linked Android tablets: Signal can now be used on an Android tablet as a standalone device or linked to an existing Signal account. Read more
- Linked Android phones: you can now link Signal on an Android phone to another device, such as a primary Android phone or an iPhone. Read more
- Improved video quality and increased maximum length of sent videos
End groups for everyone & member search
July 8, 2026
- End groups for everyone: admins can now end a group for everyone. After ending a group, members will no longer be able to send messages or start calls in the group. Read more
- A new member search option in group details lets you quickly find specific participants within a group. In the search results view, you'll have the option to add new members or invite people using the optional group link
Polls for 1:1 chats, disappearing call events, suggestion to lower raised hand
July 1, 2026
- Polls can now be created in individual chats too
- Disappearing call events: call events now respect the disappearing timer of a chat and disappear too. For missed calls, the timer starts when the call is read. For 1:1 calls, the timer starts when the call is answered or declined and for group calls, the timer will start when the call is over. Read more
- Suggestion to lower raised hand: after raising your hand in a group call, Signal shows a prompt to lower your hand when you start talking. Read more
Admin message deletion, group suggestions, more pinned chats
June 24, 2026
- Admin message deletion: group admins can now delete recent messages from other group members for everyone. Read more
- Group suggestions: when you create a new group and select the exact same members, your existing groups with those members will be suggested. Read more
- More pinned chats: the maximum number of pinned chats has been increased from 4 to 10. Read more
Text selection for long messages

- Text selection for long messages: select text in expanded "Read more" messages and use Android's default actions such as copy, translate, select all, and share
Remote mute

- Remote mute: all participants can now mute others in group calls
- Reliability & safety: fixes for connection drops in the background, conversation scroll/unread marker glitches, hardening to keep malformed messages and attachments from causing crashes, and improved calling technology

- Updated message request UI: new warnings when you receive a new message from someone you don't know. Useful for help identify phishing attacks on Signal
- Added share and forward options to all media context menus
- Now saved attachments will preserve the original message timestamp instead of using the timestamp at the saved time
Plaintext history export & new context menu All media

- Plaintext history export: export all your chat history in JSON format. Go to Settings → Chats → Export chat History
- Context menu in all media screen: a handy context menu in all media screen to easily share, forward, save, delete any file. Go to Chat settings → All media → Long press any item
- Now the unanswered outgoing calls are shown as unanswered instead of outgoing in call log and inside the chat
New local backups & collapsed events
